The Honeycombs Community Pit
Honeycomb weathering of the topaz-rich rhyolite tuff, also known as “lace rock,” has given The Honeycombs their name.
Although light gray is the most common color of the lace rock, orange, lavender, and pink rhyolite tuff is also found in the hills.

The Honeycombs lace rock is popular with aquarium enthusiasts and as specimen pieces in landscaping.
