Historical Mineral Document Collection

The UGS, with support from the U.S. Geological Survey National Geological and Geophysical Data Preservation Program (NGGDPP), has digitized historical mineral documents related to past mining and exploration activity in the state of Utah. The Historical Mineral Document Collection includes metallic and energy mineral commodities and provides substantial historical detail on many of Utah’s most prolific and important mineral and mining districts, including many that are being re-evaluated for potential in the new era of critical mineral development. For more information on Utah’s mineral resources see the Utah Mineral Resources Interactive Map and minerals publications such as the Annual Mining Report, Critical Minerals of Utah, and Uranium and Vanadium Resources of Utah.
