Datasets are crucial in supporting scientific studies and are available for a variety of geology-related topics. The datasets available here were collected in support of various UGS projects and include aerial imagery, lidar elevation data, Excel spreadsheets and plots, statistical data, and archived documents and photos. Additionally, many of our geologic maps are supplemented by geographic information system (GIS) databases.

Great Salt Lake Brine Chemistry Database
The salinity level of Great Salt Lake (GSL) is quite dynamic due to natural lake level fluctuations and man-made barriers within the lake. At a number of sites throughout the lake, the UGS takes samples at various depths through the water column, measures those samples for density, and analyzes them for chemistry. This sampling program has largely been funded by the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands.
