Riverdale South Weber Drive Landslide, Weber County

A landslide occurred near South Weber Drive in Riverdale, Weber County, on May 11, 2023, and was reported by UGS Geologist Keilee Higgs. Landslide debris covered the road temporarily and was cleaned up. A broken pipe from a secondary water supply for Riverview Estates Mobile Home Park may have contributed to the landslide.

Landslide Type: Debris flow

Size: Length of a handball court (130 ft).

Special Conditions: Mud to gravel river-terrace deposits present.

Damages: Ground cracks formed behind and in the asphalt in front of storage sheds, and South Weber Drive was temporarily closed.

Status: Stable
