The main office for the Utah Geological Survey is located at 1594 W North Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. Resources at this location include teaching kits for check out, rock identification and inquiries, the UGS Library, the Natural Resources Map & Bookstore, and more. The Salt Lake City office is home to the primary geologic programs that comprise the UGS.

Located at the Department of Natural Resources in Salt Lake City, the Natural Resources Map & Bookstore provides a selection of UGS publications, maps, outdoor books and guides, nature and science-related gifts, and more.

Utah Geological Survey Library

The UGS Library has over 14,000 items including topographic and geologic maps, professional journals, professional society publications, theses and dissertations, data CDs and DVDs, and references about Utah’s geology.

We welcome all visitors, but library visitation is by appointment only.
