Geologic Guide to Wasatch Front Canyons

The Utah Geological Survey recently published Geologic Guide
to the Central Wasatch Front Canyons, Salt Lake County, Utah.
For the first time, a concise geologic road guide to Salt Lake County’s
Wasatch canyons is available to the public. Striking beauty, abundant
recreational opportunities, historic mining and pioneer locales,
and a unique geologic story stretching back over one billion years
make these canyons a world-class attraction.
This 28-page brochure is filled with color pictures, illustrations,
and fold-out maps perfect for the public or the geologist who want
a quick synopsis of the local geology. Maps show the roadside geology
of the six canyons open to vehicles: City Creek, Emigration, Parleys,
Mill Creek, Big Cottonwood, and Little Cottonwood Canyons.
