UGS Releases the La Sal 30’ x 60’ Geologic Map

The Utah Geological Survey (UGS) announces the release of the Geologic Map of the La Sal 30’ x 60’ Quadrangle, San Juan, Wayne, and Garfield Counties, Utah, and Montrose and San Miguel Counties, Colorado, Utah, on CD-ROM.

This map is part of the 30’ x 60’ quadrangle series and was produced at a scale of 1:100,000. Utah is covered by 46 of these quadrangles, each about 1760 square miles.

This map covers the southern part of the La Sal Mountains laccolith intrusions, the southern Paradox Basin salt-cored collapsed-anticline region, and most of Canyonlands National Park.

The map is being released as a digital Geographic Information System (GIS) and graphical image files (pdf) on CD-ROM and is available at the Natural Resources Map & Bookstore, 1594 West North Temple, Salt Lake City, 801-537-3320 or 1-888-UTAHMAP; geostore@utah.gov for $24.95.
