The Utah Geological Survey’s newest publication, Selected Mining Districts of Utah, (a 59-page, spiral-bound glossy 8.5 x 11” paperback) covering Utah’s most productive mining districts is now available. In all, 15 mining districts are discussed in the book, which contain descriptions of the location, production, history, geology, mineralogy, and current/future operations.

In addition, there is a glossary of geologic terms and other useful resources in the appendices, such as a descriptive list of minerals found in the districts, geologic time scale, and a list of mineral resources of the mining districts. The publication will be of interest to geologists, mineral collectors, and those interested in the mining history of Utah.

Colorful inset maps and photos of mines and minerals are included in Selected Mining Districts of Utah (MP-05-5).
