The Hunter Power Plant, located south of the town of Castle Dale, has three generators with a combined capacity of 1,472 megawatts. This plant first started operating in June of 1978 and uses roughly 14,000 tons of coal per day.

The Hunter Coal Storage and Blending Facility is located adjacent to the Hunter Power Plant.
