Hunter Coal Storage and Blending Facility

The Hunter Coal Storage and Blending Facility is located adjacent to the Hunter Power Plant, just south of Castle Dale. The blending facility was built in 1990 to facilitate the blending of ever increasing high-ash coal from the Trail Mountain mine. Trail Mountain closed in 2001 and coal is currently provided from Deer Creek and three other mines.
