Energy West Mining Company - Deer Creek Mine

The Deer Creek mine is located near the mouth of Huntington Canyon, northwest of the town of Huntington. Coal from Deer Creek is used mostly by the nearby Huntington Power Plant, but some is also used at the Hunter Power Plant, south of Castle Dale.

Both the Hiawatha and the Blind Canyon seams are being mined at Deer Creek and development has begun in the Mill Fork tract.
